Our client is seeking a seasoned Applications Chemist to lead Technical Service and R&D initiatives. In this role, you will provide high-level support to clients, supply partners, and internal sales teams by leveraging your technical expertise to optimize our product portfolio.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Data & Project Management
- Data Stewardship: Oversee the full lifecycle of laboratory data, including the acquisition, rigorous validation, and systematic maintenance of all project records.
- Analytical Execution: Execute complex lab protocols, interpreting results with high precision to drive project success.
- Digital Proficiency: Utilize advanced software suites—including Excel, PowerPoint, Datacor/Chempax, eChempax, and BRM—for comprehensive data processing and documentation.
- Technical Authoring: Produce laboratory reports that synthesize testing data into clear conclusions and strategic recommendations.
- Safety & Lab Excellence: Champion a "safety-first" culture by maintaining housekeeping standards and strictly adhering to environmental and protective protocols.
- Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day lab logistics, including equipment calibration, chemical inventory tracking, and procurement of consumables.
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Strategic Support: Deliver technical guidance to customers and sales teams, specifically focused on enhancing our specialized product lines.
- Knowledge Sharing: Interface with a network of professionals to stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging protocols, and innovative methodologies.
- Cross-Functional Synergy: Provide detailed documentation and technical insights to other departments to support broader business objectives.
Innovation & Operational Growth
- Maintain total alignment with facility certifications, regulatory requirements, and industry designations.
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to laboratory systems and workflows.
- Act as a subject matter expert, sharing specialized knowledge with the wider team and supporting various divisions to elevate overall performance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline (required).
- A minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in a laboratory setting, demonstrating a trajectory of increasing responsibility.
- Proven track record in the HI&I (Household, Industrial & Institutional) and I&I (Industrial & Institutional) industries. Candidates must have direct experience formulating or testing cleaning agents, industrial surfactants, or related chemistries.
- Demonstrated proficiency utilizing industry-specific lab equipment and modern analytical technologies.
