SNI Companies is working with a leading building materials distributor with an active land transportation operation across Florida. They are seeking an experienced Logistics & Dispatch Coordinator to manage the movement of bulk shipments via flatbed and bulk tanker trucks. This is an office-based role located in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
All freight is booked directly with independent owner-operators, fleet operators, and third-party brokers. The ideal candidate will bring strong dispatch experience, a deep understanding of freight logistics, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule the transportation of dry cargo (cement pallets, super sacks) and bulk cement shipments via flatbed and bulk tanker trucks
- Dispatch drivers and book freight directly with truck owners, fleet operators, and brokers-- no company-owned fleet
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of all shipments and proactively communicate status updates to customers and the sales team
- Analyze transportation data to optimize routes and improve overall efficiency
- Collaborate with operations and accounting teams to maintain accurate inventory records
- Utilize transportation management software and GPS tracking systems to plan and allocate resources effectively
- Some travel within Florida required to support operations
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a dispatch or logistics coordination role
- Hands-on experience working with dry bulk cargo, flatbed freight, and/or bulk tanker logistics strongly preferred
- Solid knowledge of freight broker relationships, 3PL operations, and supply chain management
- Proficiency with transportation planning software and GPS tracking systems
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication skills-- able to coordinate effectively with drivers, brokers, customers, and internal teams
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a team-oriented approach
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable, insured personal vehicle
- Must pass background check and drug screening
