Logistics Coordinator

SP Distribution is a leading U.S. distributor of juvenile products. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support and help optimize our day-to-day domestic logistics operations.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and contributes to continuous operational improvement. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics processes.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a hands-on logistics professional with practical experience managing end-to-end operations in a fast-paced distribution environment.
This role requires hands-on experience with EDI systems and freight rate negotiation. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
- Proven hands-on experience working with EDI platforms and managing order flow for major retailers and large national chains (e.g., Target, Nordstrom, Walmart, Amazon, etc.)
- Strong background in B2B shipping operations, including compliance with routing guides, labeling requirements (UCC-128 / GS1), and retailer-specific compliance standards
- Experience coordinating and optimizing domestic freight (LTL, FTL, small parcel) across multiple carriers (ShipStation experience preferred)
- Direct experience managing import ocean freight, including booking, documentation, customs clearance coordination, and working with freight forwarders
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage pricing for both domestic and international (ocean) freight with carriers and forwarders
- Experience working closely with warehouses and inventory teams, including stock coordination and order fulfillment processes
- Familiarity with shipping documentation, labeling systems, and logistics workflows
- Ability to analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
- Comfortable working with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred) and logistics-related software such as Magaya
- Strong understanding of operational workflows across sales, logistics, and supply chain functions
Experience working with major U.S. retailers and their compliance requirements is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily domestic shipping operations to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective deliveries
- Manage and support nationwide B2B and B2C order fulfillment, including EDI platform operations and cross-department collaboration
- Build and maintain relationships with freight carriers, forwarders, and parcel providers; support rate negotiations and service optimization
- Partner with warehouse teams on inventory management, stock control, and operational efficiency initiatives
- Prepare shipping labels and all required documentation for domestic shipments
- Support import logistics, including ocean freight coordination, customs clearance, and duties management
- Analyze logistics costs and performance, identifying opportunities for process improvement and savings
- Communicate regularly with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
- Contribute to achieving departmental KPIs and operational targets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field (preferred)
- 3–7 years of experience in logistics, operations, shipping, and warehouse management
- Strong ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Demonstrated leadership mindset with the ability to support and motivate team members
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
- High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and time management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); PowerPoint is a plus
- Experience with NetSuite strongly preferred
- Basic understanding of accounting principles is a plus
Position Details
- Location: Doral/Hialeah, FL (on-site; no remote work)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Commensurate with experience
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S.
- Written and Spoken English proficiency is mandatory
