Role PurposeThe Logistics & Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily portable restroom and restroom trailer deliveries, service routes, swaps, and emergency responses. This role ensures the right units are delivered, serviced, and removed on time while optimizing routes, equipment availability, and driver productivity.
This position is mission-critical during peak seasons, weather events, festivals, construction projects, and plant work.
Core Responsibilities
Dispatch & Scheduling
- Create and manage daily and weekly service routes for:
- Portable restroom servicing
- Restroom trailer servicing
- Septic pumping
- Fresh water fills & waste removal
- Schedule:
- New deliveries
- Pickups
- Swaps
- Emergency or same-day service calls
- Adjust routes in real time due to:
- Weather
- Breakdowns
- Site access issues
- Customer changes
- Maintain service frequency compliance (weekly, bi-weekly, plant-specific schedules)
Customer Communication- Confirm delivery, service, and pickup dates/times
- Handle customer calls regarding:
- Missed or late service
- Emergency requests
- Schedule changes
- Access issues
- Provide professional, calm communication — especially during events or outages
- Document all customer interactions in the system
Required Skills- Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving ability
- Comfortable making fast decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication (drivers + customers)
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Basic computer skills (dispatch software, spreadsheets, maps)
- Ability to stay calm during chaos (this is key in this industry)
Driver & Field Coordination- Dispatch drivers each morning with:
- Route assignments
- Unit counts
- Special site notes (bad access, locked gates, safety rules)
- Communicate with drivers throughout the day via phone/text/software
- Track:
- Job completion
- Missed services
- Delays or reroutes
- Support drivers with problem-solving in the field
- Escalate issues when service commitments are at risk
Equipment & Inventory Management- Track availability and location of:
- Standard portable restrooms
- ADA units
- Handwash stations
- 4-man urinals
- Restroom trailers
- Coordinate unit prep, cleaning, and readiness with yard/plant staff
- Ensure the correct unit types are assigned per contract
- Prevent overbooking or misallocation of equipment
- Flag maintenance issues and remove units from service as needed
Preferred Experience- Dispatching or logistics experience (sanitation, construction, trucking, utilities, or rentals preferred)
- Knowledge of route optimization
- Familiarity with portable sanitation or service-based businesses
- Understanding of geographic service areas

- Occasional early mornings, late afternoons, and weekend coordination
