About the Role
NuEnergy Storage Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design, validation, and production readiness of lithium-ion battery products. This role will act as the technical bridge between product design and manufacturing, ensuring that mechanical designs meet performance, reliability and manufacturability requirements.
Responsibilities:
Product Mechanical Design
- Lead mechanical design of battery components (enclosures, cell holders, bus bars, cooling structures, gaskets, adhesives, and safety hardware).
- Develop CAD models, detailed drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and configuration control through product lifecycle management (PLM).
Manufacturability & Process Integration
- Translate product requirements into manufacturing specifications and process controls.
- Support DFM/DFMA activities and drive design updates to improve yield, cycle time, cost, and part robustness.
Cross-Functional Engineering
- Work with electrical, BMS, thermal, quality, manufacturing, and supplier engineering to ensure integrated product performance.
- Technical Product Marketing
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure product compliance with relevant standards (UN 38.3, UL 2580, IEC 62660, OEM battery pack specifications).
- Support technical documentation for safety, certification, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- 3–8+ years in product mechanical engineering, preferably in battery, EV, or energy storage
- Strong expertise in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or NX).
- Hands-on problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced product development environments.
