Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting product and process quality to ensure that products meet customer requirements and internal quality standards. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Quality Management & Compliance
- Support the Quality Manager in maintaining quality assurance objectives and ensuring that quality targets are achieved.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across production and supporting teams.
2. Quality Systems & Product Development
- Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new product introductions (NPI).
- Assist in developing and maintaining Control Plans, Process Flows, and FMEA documentation (DFMEA/PFMEA).
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements.
3. Production Quality Assurance
- Support quality assurance activities for manual, semi-automatic, and automated assembly processes.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring Statistical Process Control (SPC) to ensure process stability and capability.
- Support containment activities, failure investigations, and root cause analysis for internal and external quality issues using methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and support scrap reduction initiatives.
4. Customer Quality Support
- Support customer quality activities including Customer Complaints (SCAR) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints and support the resolution process.
- Prepare quality reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for internal review and customer reporting.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies such as DMAIC and PDCA.
- Analyze quality data such as DPPM, FPY, FTY, and OEE to identify trends and support improvement actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a Quality Engineering or manufacturing quality role.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and core quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC.
- Experience supporting root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, EMS, or automotive manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Surface Mount Technology (SMT) or automated assembly processes.
- Knowledge of IPC standards such as IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, or IPC-A-600.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.

- Ability to work effectively with production, engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to achieve operational objectives.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical information.
- Supports initiatives that improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and operational performance.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Work may be performed in both office and manufacturing environments. The position may require extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking on the production floor. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when entering production areas.
