Overview
Seeking a Mechanical Engineering contractor with strong CAD skills and hands-on experience in metrology—especially CT scanning—to support R&D, product development, and validation. This role also supports injection molding evaluations, inspections, and technical documentation in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CT scanners and metrology equipment for dimensional and internal part analysis
- Analyze 3D datasets and generate GD&T-based inspection and metrology reports (VGStudio MAX preferred)
- Create and update 3D CAD models and 2D drawings; perform tolerance analyses
- Support injection molding activities including first-article inspections, mold validation, and defect analysis
- Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and suppliers to improve design and manufacturability
- Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate project documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
- Experience with CT scanning or 3D metrology (CMM, laser scanning, etc.)
- Strong GD&T and dimensional analysis skills
- Familiarity with injection molding processes and molded-part evaluation
Preferred
- Experience with metrology software (VGStudio MAX, PolyWorks, GOM, Calypso, PC-DMIS)
- Knowledge of plastics, molding parameters, and DFM/DFA
- R&D or product development experience
