The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of products across all transportation modes. This role focuses on executing on-time deliveries, responding to changing business demands, mitigating transportation challenges, and driving continuous improvements in cost efficiency and service performance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong prioritization skills, and is capable of making quick, effective decisions under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee supply chain operations, including inventory management, warehousing, storage, and transportation activities.
- Audit and review purchase orders, contracts, shipping documentation, and related records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, third-party logistics providers, customer service teams, and shipping departments to optimize scheduling, fleet utilization, and delivery performance.
- Plan, monitor, and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery while maximizing productivity and minimizing transportation costs.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with transportation carriers to secure reliable service and competitive pricing.
- Monitor freight and shipment expenses, identify transportation network challenges, and implement corrective actions to improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies or errors.
- Analyze and improve logistics and supply chain processes to enhance organization, efficiency, and overall performance.
- Manage distribution and transportation budgets, ensuring effective cost control and adherence to financial targets.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction, delivery reliability, and supply chain effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or distribution operations.
- Strong understanding of transportation management, freight operations, and supply chain principles.
- Experience working with carriers, freight brokers, and third-party logistics providers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with ERP, TMS, or logistics management systems preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and relationship management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and freight compliance requirements.
- Experience with cost analysis, carrier negotiations, and budget management.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement process enhancements.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
