The SVP, Products Marketing & Supply is responsible for end‑to‑end value realization across the refined products chain—from refinery gate to market. This role integrates product marketing, market strategy, supply execution, and financial/compliance levers to maximize system‑wide margin.
Serving as the commercial owner of product value, the SVP partners closely with Refining & Commercial Optimization (LP, planning, analytics) to ensure operational decisions translate into maximum economic outcomes. This leader directs how every barrel is positioned, priced, hedged, and monetized, shaping commercial strategy and driving enterprise‑level margin performance.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Economics, or related technical discipline required
- Advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 15+ years of progressive commercial experience in refined products, supply, trading, marketing, or downstream operations
- 10+ years of leadership experience, including direct management of multi‑disciplinary teams (marketing, supply, compliance, analytics)
- Experience working in a refinery‑integrated commercial environment strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in margin optimization, market strategy, and commercial decision‑making
- Experience partnering with LP/planning teams to translate market strategy into operational and economic outcomes
- Experience managing regulatory and compliance levers (e.g., RINs, sulfur, benzene)
- Experience developing and executing hedging strategies for refined products
- Ability to travel as needed

Product Marketing & Placement Strategy
- Define and execute product placement strategy across rack, wholesale, spot, and strategic channels
- Optimize market selection, pricing strategy, and channel mix to maximize netbacks
- Align product flows with regional and global market dynamics
Supply Strategy & Execution
- Lead refined products supply strategy, including logistics, inventory positioning, and distribution
- Ensure alignment between refinery output and market demand
- Oversee execution of product movements, blending strategy, and system balancing
Margin Optimization & Commercial Direction
- Set commercial priorities that guide system optimization and planning decisions
- Translate market intelligence into actionable direction for planning and optimization teams
- Identify and capture incremental margin opportunities across product slate, geography, and channels
Partnership with Refining & Commercial Optimization (LP & Planning)
- Provide market‑based inputs and commercial priorities to guide optimization outputs
- Evaluate LP‑driven plans and scenarios for alignment with market strategy and value capture
- Collaborate on trade‑offs between operational efficiency and market‑driven margin optimization
- Goal: The SVP defines the what and why; the optimization team delivers the how.
Regulatory & Compliance Value Management
- Own strategy and execution for RIN management, including procurement, optimization, and cost mitigation
- Oversee benzene and sulfur compliance strategies while minimizing economic impact
- Integrate compliance considerations into broader commercial and optimization decisions
Products Hedging Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute hedging strategies aligned with commercial objectives and risk appetite
- Manage exposure to price volatility across product slate and markets
- Partner with risk management and finance to ensure disciplined governance and reporting
Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Serve as the primary commercial interface with refining operations, planning, and optimization teams
- Lead and develop a high‑performing team across marketing, supply, compliance, and market analytics
- Drive a performance culture centered on margin delivery and accountability
Strategic Development & Growth
- Shape long‑term strategy for product markets, channels, and commercial positioning
- Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and optimization levers
- Support enterprise‑level decisions with market insights and margin analysis
