Position Overview

As an
IT Specialist at UES, one of the fastest growing AEC firms in the country, you will play a critical role in maintaining our technology infrastructure across the Florida Region. Based in our Jacksonville, FL office, you will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, provide dedicated end-user support, and assist with system upgrades to ensure seamless operational continuity.

Responsibilities
- User Support: Provide Tier 2-3 technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues, serving as the primary local point of contact for the Florida region.
- System Maintenance: Assist with the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of computers, servers, and mobile devices, including performing regular updates and patches
- Operations & Logistics: Help manage the full employee lifecycle, from setting up user accounts and hardware during onboarding to maintaining an accurate inventory of IT assets
- Compliance & Security: Follow established IT procedures for data backups, disaster recovery, and software licensing to ensure a secure and reliable environment
- Collaboration & Escalation: Work closely with the national IT team on special projects and escalate complex technical issues to senior staff or vendors when necessary
- Continuous Learning: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology trends and best practices to help optimize local department operations
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent technical certifications and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support or a related technical role.
- Proficiency with Windows and/or Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business software applications.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and hardware (e.g., routers, switches, VPN).
- Experience with ticketing systems and IT asset management tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to user needs in a timely manner

- Calm Under Pressure: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain professional and communicative during high-priority technical outages or tight project deadlines
- Proactive Technical Curiosity: A self-starter who stays current with emerging technology trends and actively seeks out ways to optimize local IT operations
- This is a 100% in-office position, so must be within a commutable distance to the Jacksonville, FL office.
Travel Requirements
- This position does not require regular travel as part of its primary responsibilities. However, occasional
travel may be required, up to 10%, primarily for occasional off-site meetings, training sessions, or
company events. Travel, when necessary, will be communicated in advance and aligned with business
needs.

- This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
- The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.

- The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.
