The Collaborative is a statewide nonprofit with the mission to close the racial wealth gap by ensuring that all North Carolinians have access and the tools needed to build wealth. From the coast to the mountains or New Bern, Carrboro, Hillsborough, Raleigh, Greensboro to Winston-Salem and Wilmington we are recruiting VISTAs to build systems statewide that address issues facing low-income families. This opportunity enhances efforts to maximize/increase income, through employment, microenterprise, and financial education. We seek individuals who work collaboratively and independently, take initiative and responsibility for their assigned tasks, have a positive attitude, demonstrate an interest in learning, and are committed to anti-poverty efforts. We prefer a Bachelor’s degree and offer a variety of benefits.
Member Duties : AmeriCorps VISTA members serve across multiple organizations and communities, supporting efforts to expand economic mobility and financial capability. Activities may include building the capacity of employment and microenterprise programs; developing outreach and marketing materials; recruiting and managing volunteers; and strengthening partnerships with local and statewide stakeholders. VISTAs also support the design of financial capability training, connect services to workforce development and community college systems, and assist with program planning and implementation. Additional responsibilities may include convening partners, developing policies and procedures, and identifying fundraising and sponsorship opportunities to sustain and grow program impact.
