Our client is a rapidly growing home services company who is expanding into North Carolina and South Carolina. The Regional Operations Manager – HVAC is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing HVAC operations, beginning with a single branch and scaling to multiple locations as the region grows. This individual serves as the licensed authority, ensuring all installation work is performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with North Carolina regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Operations, Production & Quality
- Act as the licensed authority for all HVAC work, maintaining required certifications and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Lead daily installation and production activities, including hands-on support for complex or high-priority jobs.
- Oversee scheduling, job staging, materials, and permitting to ensure efficient execution.
- Ensure all installations meet quality standards, pass inspections, and meet warranty requirements.
- Monitor productivity, job throughput, and material usage to drive efficiency and profitability.
- Standardize installation practices, safety protocols, and customer experience across locations.
Team Leadership & Safety
- Lead, coach, and develop technicians to build a high-performing, scalable workforce.
- Reinforce a strong safety culture through jobsite audits, training, and compliance checks.
- Provide technical guidance and support in the field, resolving issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure adherence to all North Carolina licensing, permitting, and inspection requirements.
- Review job documentation, timekeeping, and material usage for accuracy and completeness.
- Support reporting, job costing, and inventory management.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of residential HVAC installation or production experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Strong hands-on technical expertise with the ability to support fieldwork as needed.
- Solid understanding of HVAC standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, permits, and technical specifications.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as the region expands.
Required Education & Certifications
- H3-1, Heating Group 3 – Class I Contractor License (required)
- EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
- SP-PH Special Plumbing & Heating License (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade/technical training preferred
