Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Project Mechanical Engineer, based in Columbia, SC. The Project Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical equipment, utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, and leading projects from conception to completion. Equipment includes industrial ovens, paint booths, HVAC systems and material handling systems. Daily responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting research and development for innovative solutions, and managing timelines and budgets for project deliverables. The engineer will also ensure machinery and equipment meet performance and safety standards through testing and analysis.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering principles and Machine Design.
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating detailed technical drawings and models. SolidWorks experience preferred.
- Strong Project Management skills including planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects.
- Familiarity with Research and Development (R&D) processes and innovation-driven problem-solving.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work on-site daily in Columbia, SC.
- Ability to travel to jobsites for equipment installation and start up.
- Previous experience in the design and manufacturing of coating or finishing systems is a plus.
