Position Summary
Western Steel Buildings is seeking an experienced Project Manager to strengthen our Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings Operations Team. This role works closely with our Sales Team and requires proven ability to estimate, procure, execute, and manage construction contracts from start to finish.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead new Western Steel Buildings projects from contract execution through successful project close-out, ensuring an exceptional client experience at every stage.
- Reinforce customer satisfaction through superior service and proactive communication.
- Professionally represent Western Steel Buildings with clients, vendors, factories, and installers.
- Partner with the Sales Team to develop accurate estimates for potential metal building projects.
- Support the Sales Team in resolving any callbacks or warranty claims efficiently and professionally.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of steel buildings from design to completion, including reading blueprints, site planning, snow and wind load requirements, steel erection, concrete work, foundation design, electrical planning, lighting, hangar doors, curtain walls, mezzanines, HVAC, fire sprinkler systems, insulated panel systems, and custom wall finishes.
- Demonstrate familiarity with the full range of steel building applications, including industrial, commercial, equestrian, oilfield, indoor agricultural, aviation, workshop, mini-storage, recreational, municipal, manufacturing, and public utility projects.
- Accurately order buildings and manage all factory communication, fabrication schedules, and delivery schedules, communicating updates to internal teammates and clients in a timely manner.
- Manage job budgets, costs, logistics, and scheduling in coordination with the Sales Team.
- Maintain thorough project documentation and ensure all records are kept up to date in Western Steel Buildings' systems and software.
- Ensure clear, timely communication among all project stakeholders — including factories, clients, internal teammates, and installers — to maintain alignment with our mission.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to drive continuous improvement across all facets of building procurement.
- Report to the Operations Manager.
- Demonstrate leadership across all facets of the role and embrace growth opportunities as the company evolves.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the construction or metal building industry.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously across estimating, procurement, and construction phases.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and an effective communicator across all levels of an organization.
