We are looking for a Construction Field Inspector to support commercial construction projects in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. This role is responsible for visiting job sites, monitoring construction activities, and ensuring work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and safety standards. The Field Inspector works closely with project managers, contractors, and field teams to document progress, identify potential issues, and maintain project quality. This position is well suited for someone with hands-on construction experience who is detail-oriented and comfortable working in the field.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and verify work aligns with project plans and specifications
- Inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with project requirements, building codes, and safety standards
- Document site conditions, project milestones, and inspection findings through reports and photos
- Communicate inspection results with project managers, contractors, and internal teams
- Identify potential construction issues and escalate concerns to project leadership
- Verify materials, workmanship, and installation methods meet project specifications
- Track project progress and assist with maintaining inspection records and documentation
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate with contractors regarding field observations
- Assist project managers with resolving field issues that may impact schedule or quality
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in construction, field inspection, or jobsite supervision
- Familiarity with commercial construction practices and building systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document field observations accurately
- Experience working with contractors, subcontractors, and field teams
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to travel to project sites within the Salt Lake City area
- Proficiency with basic reporting tools and construction documentation systems
