Job Title: Head Athletic Trainer - USA Women's Rugby

SUMMARY:
- The Rugby Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing high-quality sports medicine services; functioning effectively as a member of the sports medicine team; supporting Source's mission and vision; proactively leading and supporting local efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services, and promoting a safe environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Athlete Care & Medical Operations
- Provide athletic training services, including injury prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Understands medical diagnosis and treatment interventions.
- Follows established rehabilitation protocols based on a diagnosis.
- Provides education to patients in an ongoing fashion.
- Operates within Source Written Protocols and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Delivers competent age-appropriate patient care, integrating infection control and body substance precautions, patient safety, body mechanics, and knowledge of growth and development.
- Document all injuries, illnesses, treatments, and rehabilitation in the EMR system.
- Maintains high-quality and thorough documentation to protect your patients' safety.
- Ensures care quality.
- Performs complete and accurate medical recordkeeping.
- Ensures the patients get the proper care at the right time.
- Attend all assigned competitions, tournaments, matches, and training camps—domestic and international.
- Design and implement individualized injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.
- Conduct preseason and in-season screenings and collaborate on performance protocols.
- Travels for coverage needs and transportation of supplies, marketing materials, and other essential items are deemed by the Source Fitness Management Administration.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with team physicians, the Medical Director, Sevens Medical Manager, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate athlete status, injury progression, and return-to-play timelines to coaches and staff.
- Effectively communicates healthcare structure across stakeholders
- Communicates with Source administration regularly regarding operations at the worksite.
- Liaise with USOPC Sports Medicine and Academy/Pathway medical staff.
Operational & Administrative Duties
- Maintains an environment and structure equally available to the entire population is regularly scheduled.
- Maintains and periodically updates an Emergency Action Plans for each venue.
- Works contracted time allotments.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and recovery/performance equipment.
- Ensure proper maintenance and documentation of medical equipment.
- Complete and submit insurance claim forms; collaborate with medical leadership and insurers during processing.
- Ensure compliance with WADA/USADA anti-doping policies and World Rugby standards of care.
- Attends mandatory staff meetings, system-wide training, and other necessary events or functions by Source Fitness Management Administration.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide athletic training services to other USA Rugby teams as assigned.
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME) to stay current with best practices.
- Investigates educational opportunities that contribute to teams' and staff's well-being.
- Participates and assists in planning educational experiences and professional development activities as needed
- Attends in-services and continuing education programs and presents current trends in the area of practice to progress the skills of our staff.

Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s Degree (MS/MA) or equivalent, or eight to twelve years of related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in rugby or elite-level collision/contact sports (preferred)
- Strong manual therapy skills.
- Certificates, Licenses, and registrations required:
- Maintains current state licensure and be certified by the Board of Certification.
- Member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, regional Athletic Trainers’ Association, and state Athletic Trainers’ Associations.
- BLS instructor certification is required.
- ICIR L2 certification is required.
- Computer skills required: Accounting Software, Contract Management Systems, Development Software, Human Resource Systems, Inventory Software, Microsoft Office Suite, Payroll Systems, Project Management Software.
- Maintain independent liability insurance in addition to liability insurance provided by the employer.
