POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager of Product Development, reporting to the SVP of Product Development will be responsible for planning and tracking progress through the entire lifecycle of a product, from concept to delivery. Through close partnerships with Product Development, Packaging, Operations, Marketing and Creative partners you will ensure new products are successfully launched on time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and enforce comprehensive project plans, timelines, and milestones for initiatives spanning across all phases of product development.
- Create, own, and manage detailed project plans complete with dependencies, owners, deadlines and durations in Wrike.
- Work closely with cross functional teams in meeting project milestones. Lead and/or participate in weekly project status meetings internally and externally.
- Communicate on daily basis with core teammates.
- Design project dashboards and other helpful visuals (slides for presentations) to communicate information quickly and effectively, and ‘at-a-glance’ for all stakeholders.
- Create and maintain an effective project trackers and enforce regular use of it.
- Own all sub-projects connected to New Product Launches; PR send outs, Sampling programs, Sample requests, Sets etc.
- Understand project nuances and learn where to reduce time in partnership with cross functional teams and manufacturing partners.
- Understand and flag project risks and present options to mitigate risks.
- Ensure information and status is communicated effectively to all interested parties both internal and external to the organization.
- Expect to lead meetings efficiently and effectively, identify action items from meetings clearly and provide clear meeting recaps to attendees.
- Observe and analyze cross departmental workflows and provide recommendations for process improvements (meetings, sampling, artwork etc).
- Work closely with other project managers and guide them as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Required 5+ years work experience in product development and project management within a manufacturer or brand environment.
- Experience in cosmetics turnkey project management required.
- Experience in manufacturing packaging, printing, or BFA preferred.
- Experience in working with international manufacturers required.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written is required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proficiency in Wrike, Excel, Netsuite, required.
- Strong sense of urgency with analytical and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to multi-task and manage complexity
- Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams to develop creative solutions in dynamic and changing business environment
- The right candidate will be as adaptable as Waze/GPS, with a strong ability to communicate clearly, reroute without being flustered, and reprioritize tasks constantly, while leading the teams to the end goal.
- Passion for the beauty category is a must.
