Headboards World is seeking a hands-on Shipping & Logistics Manager to oversee shipping, receiving, packaging, freight coordination, and finished-goods inventory. This role will focus on reducing our shipping backlog, improving carrier relationships and rates, and building efficient logistics processes to support our growing manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the shipping backlog and ensure completed orders move quickly
* Manage shipping, receiving, staging, and finished-goods inventory
* Coordinate LTL, white-glove, final-mile, and local deliveries
* Establish carrier accounts and negotiate rates, terms, and service levels
* Manage quotes, BOLs, pickups, tracking, delivery appointments, and claims
* Develop furniture packaging standards to reduce freight damage
* Manage packaging materials and shipping supplies
* Coordinate with manufacturing to plan upcoming shipments
* Monitor freight costs, carrier performance, and on-time shipping
* Develop SOPs and help lead shipping/warehouse personnel
Qualifications
* 3+ years of shipping, logistics, transportation, or warehouse experience
* Experience with LTL, freight, final-mile, or large-item shipping
* Carrier negotiation and freight-rate experience strongly preferred
* Knowledge of BOLs, freight claims, tracking, and shipping documentation
* Experience with inventory and shipping/receiving operations
* Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Furniture, manufacturing, or large-item logistics experience preferred
* Must be able to work full-time, 100% on-site
