Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Logistics Specialist to join our fast-paced, dynamic team supporting a leading biotechnology client. In this role, you will manage and oversee all logistics and transportation operations at our Plano, TX facility, ensuring smooth, timely, and cost-efficient delivery of materials while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all incoming and outgoing shipping activities at the Plano, TX site, providing support to Warehouse and Shipping staff.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies and standard operating procedures to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align logistics operations with overall business objectives.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of a variety of shipments, including:
- Clinical doses
- Raw materials and lab supplies
- R&D samples
- Empty Type A package returns
- Used generator returns for recycling
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts with selected couriers.
- Coordinate audit and inspection activities with vendors.
- Administer the FedEx platform and other relevant shipping accounts for the Plano facility.
- Coordinate deliveries with carriers, recipients, and internal teams (Clinical Supply, GMP, Quality, and R&D).
- Serve as the primary shipper and consignee for hazardous materials and international shipments.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of logistics experience, preferably in a regulated or biotechnology environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials shipping and international logistics preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
