Manufacturing Engineer – Heavy Manufacturing

About the Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support a process‑intensive, heavy manufacturing operation producing high‑performance materials for demanding end markets. This role is hands‑on and plant‑embedded, focused on equipment ownership, process reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.
You will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and external vendors to improve equipment performance, support capital projects, and drive operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Lead equipment upgrades, rebuilds, installations, and start‑ups
- Support development and review of new equipment specifications
- Analyze process performance, OEE, and reliability metrics; lead root‑cause investigations
- Identify and resolve equipment safety risks and implement engineered solutions
- Manage contractors, equipment vendors, and outside resources for assigned projects
- Support and execute moderate‑sized capital projects
- Review new process equipment and make recommendations for purchase and installation
- Develop and maintain standards, procedures, and documentation supporting production, safety, and environmental requirements
- Support parts development and reverse engineering
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to throughput, reliability, and cost
- Serve as a technical interface between production, maintenance, and engineering
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience
- Experience in metals, heavy manufacturing, or process‑driven environments preferred
- Strong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced, plant‑floor environment
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross‑functionally
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Education
- Associate degree with relevant experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
