About Us - FLI
FieldLine Industries is a Colorado-based quantum sensing company developing and manufacturing high-sensitivity quantum magnetometers and advanced multi-sensor systems. Our technology is being applied in a wide variety of application areas including navigation in GNSS-denied environments, unexploded ordnance detection, maritime sensing, and space systems.
Our technology sits at the intersection of quantum physics, precision engineering, and real-world deployment—transforming applications in navigation, space and geographical mapping, geophysics, defense applications, and fundamental research. We’re a small, highly technical team that values solving problems together, with curiosity, rigor, reliability and humor. We are taking on several exciting projects this year, and are seeking a technical Project Manager.
The Role
Working in close partnership with a multidisciplinary engineering and physics team, you will own project coordination across multiple concurrent efforts. This includes tracking tasks, managing timelines and milestones, monitoring budgets, and ensuring the right people are focused on the right work at the right time.
Our work spans several active, funded government programs alongside internal development efforts. In a fast-moving environment like ours, priorities can shift quickly—this role brings structure, visibility, and consistency to how work gets done.
You will serve as the central source of truth across projects: understanding who is working on what, where things stand, what risks are emerging, and what needs attention next.
This is a high-impact, highly cross-functional role where you will help the team operate more effectively, anticipate bottlenecks, and ensure projects move forward with clarity and momentum.
What we’re looking for…
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments where not everything is fully defined—and who enjoys bringing order to complexity without slowing teams down.
You should be comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously, staying close to the details while maintaining a clear view of the bigger picture. You are proactive, highly organized, and communicative, with a strong instinct for when to check in, when to escalate, and when to get out of the way.
We are a small, hands-on team—this role is not about managing from a distance. It requires someone willing to engage deeply with the team, adapt quickly, and occasionally jump in to help move things forward where needed.
Responsibilities
- Track tasks, milestones, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects
- Maintain clear visibility into project status, timelines, and dependencies
- Coordinate across engineering, physics, and operations to align priorities and resources
- Ensure team members are focused on the highest-impact work at the right time
- Identify and proactively address bottlenecks, scheduling conflicts, and resource constraints
- Lead regular check-ins and status updates to maintain alignment and momentum
- Manage and track project budgets, including government-funded programs
- Support reporting requirements, including coordination of technical and programmatic deliverables
- Integrate new workstreams (e.g., incoming sensor orders or new contracts) into existing priorities
- Help evolve internal processes for project tracking, resource allocation, and execution
- Serve as the central point of information across projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in project management or program coordination (technical environments preferred)
- Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams
- Experience tracking budgets and project performance
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Nice to Have
- Prior experience working on government contracts or federally funded programs
- Background or exposure to engineering, manufacturing, or technical product development environments
- Experience in small teams or startup environments
- Familiarity with resource planning and allocation in dynamic settings
- Experience supporting projects that move from R&D into production or delivery
