Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Quality Engineer in the North Georgia area. This is a contract-to-direct opportunity with a leading manufacturer of plastic components for the automotive sector.
The selected candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and improving quality standards across production lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections on plastic automotive parts throughout the production process.
- Utilize IPQ and/or QWIN software to document, track, and report quality metrics and non-conformances.
- Identify root causes of defects and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure all parts and processes comply with automotive industry standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and audit documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and warranty returns.
- Communicate quality findings and trends to engineering and management stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with IPQ and/or QWIN is preferred
- Direct experience performing quality control on plastic parts in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans is preferred
- Proficiency with measuring tools and inspection equipment (calipers, CMM, gauges, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and material specifications is preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar credential.
- Experience with injection molding or other plastic forming processes.
- Familiarity with OEM customer portals and supplier quality requirements.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
