Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

This role is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes that ensure product functionality, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement. The position focuses on process design, automation, Lean initiatives, and collaboration across teams to enhance manufacturability, safety, and overall operational performance.
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes to maintain product functionality and cost efficiency.
- Design and develop fixturing, research and implement approved automation, and train employees on developed methods.
- Serve as a safety role model by promoting and engineering safe work processes across operations.
- Track and meet manufacturing engineering KPIs; investigate gaps, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead the development, design, and validation of new and existing manufacturing and assembly operations.
- Drive Lean Transformation initiatives by deploying Lean tools to improve safety, reduce costs, and enhance processes.
- Implement mistake-proofing concepts to prevent product defects.
- Analyze and design fixtures, processes, and recommend automation including new equipment.
- Ensure vendors and subcontractors meet product specifications and that testing procedures are established prior to production.
- Support vendor selection processes and provide technical input.
- Partner with NPI Engineering to improve product manufacturability.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s in Engineering or Business preferred.
- 10+ years of experience working with manufacturing processes, including build-to-print and new product development.
- Experience leading a Manufacturing Engineering function in a low-volume, high-mix environment.
- Black Belt, Green Belt, or Lean Certification required.
- Strong technical engineering background with respected subject matter expertise.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to drive initiatives from concept to completion.
- Strong knowledge of quality practices, tools, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills using structured and logical approaches.
- Strong time management and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, customer/supplier portals, and tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
