Here, you will play a crucial role in crafting the future of global commerce and making a significant, positive impact on millions of eBay sellers and shoppers worldwide.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Support the risk department by bringing to bear big data technologies to aggregate and structure data.
- Conduct statistical analysis and develop algorithmic solutions to minimize fraud and oversee our buyers and sellers.
- Research and develop new methodologies and techniques to improve risk management.
- Act as the technical owner of projects, customizing analytic tools, techniques, and processes.
- Develop tracking and reporting systems to determine the efficiency of models and risk initiatives.
- Build and develop systems to transform petabytes of data into statistically significant features for modeling.
- Collaborate with Business Unit Partners and Policy Makers to build scalable and repeatable solutions.
- Partner with the Data Engineering team to deploy models to the Production environment.
Required Skills And Experience
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, math, or statistics.
- Experience working with Big Data tools such as Hadoop, Hive, and Spark.
- Expertise in machine learning packages like Python and R.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Background in various modeling techniques, including GBM, logistic regression, clustering, deep learning, etc.
- Excellent analytical skills with a proven problem-solving ability.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.

Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$98,000 - $173,600
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
