Position Overview
Tiberius is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components for advanced aerospace platforms. This role will contribute to the development of high-performance hardware, supporting the full engineering lifecycle from early concept through prototyping, testing, and production.
The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including systems, avionics, manufacturing, and test engineering, to develop reliable mechanical solutions that meet demanding operational requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex design challenges and working in fast-paced environments.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace systems
- Create CAD models, technical drawings, and engineering documentation
- Support prototype development, fabrication, and testing activities
- Assist with mechanical analysis including structural and thermal performance
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful system integration
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to engineering discussions
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical design issues
- Document engineering work and maintain organized design records
Technical & Engineering Responsibilities
- Develop detailed CAD models and engineering drawings
- Support material selection and component specification
- Assist with tolerance analysis and mechanical design validation
- Contribute to prototype builds and engineering test campaigns
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are producible
- Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action for mechanical issues
- Participate in system integration and engineering verification activities
Operational & Engineering Support
- Collaborate with systems engineers to translate requirements into mechanical designs
- Support supply chain and manufacturing teams with component sourcing and fabrication
- Assist with documentation required for testing, compliance, and system verification
- Participate in cross-functional engineering planning and project execution
- Support engineering improvements related to weight, cost, and performance
- Take on additional engineering responsibilities as the company scales
What You’ll Bring
- 2-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product development, or hardware design
- Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar tools
- Understanding of mechanical design fundamentals and materials
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and documentation abilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment
Preferred
- Experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, or advanced hardware development
- Experience supporting prototype builds and engineering testing
- Familiarity with structural or thermal analysis tools
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, or additive manufacturing
- Experience with lightweight structures or precision mechanical systems
- Engineering internship or hands-on lab/project experience in aerospace or hardware development
