Senior Director of Cloud Engineering and Operations
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Director of Cloud Engineering and Operations to spearhead a global team responsible for building, managing, and optimizing multi-cloud platforms powering innovative SaaS products. This pivotal role offers the chance to drive transformational cloud strategies, oversee multi-region infrastructure, and support cutting-edge AI development—all while ensuring operational excellence, security, and cost efficiency. Required Skills:
- 15+ years in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, database administration, or security operations
- 7+ years of senior leadership experience managing teams of 15+ engineers across multiple regions
- Extensive AWS experience (professional certifications preferred) with deep knowledge of compute, storage, networking, and managed services
- Proven track record leading multi-year large-scale infrastructure transformations (budgets over $30M, global operations)
- Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) with >80% automation coverage
- Strong security fundamentals, including vulnerability management and compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO27001, GDPR)
- Experience with multi-cloud strategies, cost optimization, and vendor negotiations
- Excellent executive communication skills, able to present complex topics clearly to leadership and stakeholders
- Ability to develop and mentor high-performing, global technical teams
Nice to Have Skills:
- SaaS industry experience with hypergrowth or M&A activity
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, container orchestration, and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure and emerging cloud technologies
- Published thought leadership or conference speaking experience
- Familiarity with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitbucket)
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, Security Specialty certifications
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Bachelor’s with equivalent experience accepted)
- Experience working in SaaS environments with rapid growth and global scaling
- Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure and data platform engineering
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams
