Job Description
To be responsible for the strategy, reliability, security and operational excellence of the organization’s technology environment, including technical infrastructure, networks, servers, storage platforms, application development, desktop and end user computing services. To provide enterprise-wide leadership to ensure technology platforms are scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with clinical, academic, and business priorities. To partner closely with executive leadership, clinical leaders, and business stakeholders to deliver high quality, customer focused technology services and to drive innovation and continuous improvement across the organization. To serve as a key change agent, leading modernization efforts and fostering a culture of operational discipline, agility, and collaboration in a complex, highly regulated healthcare environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides executive oversight of enterprise infrastructure, including data centers, cloud platforms, networks, servers, storage, operating systems, and middleware. Ensures high availability, performance, disaster recovery and business continuity for all critical systems and services. Establishes and enforces technology standards, architecture principles, and operational best practices across the enterprise. Drives modernization strategies, including cloud adoption, virtualization, and infrastructure automation.
- Leads application development and supports organizations, ensuring alignment with clinical, academic,and business priorities. Oversees desktop engineering, endpoint management, and end user computing services to ensure a secure, reliable and productive user experience. Partners with application owners to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and well integrated into the broader technology ecosystem.
- Defines and maintains enterprise technology roadmaps aligned with organizational strategy. Identifies, evaluates and recommends emerging technologies that improve care delivery, operational efficiency and user experience. Collaborates with vendors and strategic partners on technology planning, roadmap alignment, and innovation initiatives. Serves as a trusted advisor to the CIO and executive leadership on technology trends, risks and opportunities.
- Serves as a senior member of the IT Leadership Team, contributing to enterprise IT strategy, governance and decision making. Leads, mentors and develops technical leaders and teams, fostering accountability, professional growth, and succession planning. Establishes performance metrics and dashboards to monitor service quality, reliability, cost effectiveness and outcomes. Promotes strong collaboration across IT domains and with enterprise stakeholders.
- Develops and manages operating and capital budgets for technology services and platforms. Ensures effective financial stewardship through cost transparency, forecasting and optimization. Supports business cases, total cost of ownership analyses and vendor negotiations.
- Partners closely with Information Security, Privacy, and Compliance leadership to ensure technology environments meet HIPAA, FERPA and other regulatory requirements. Commits to fostering a culture of security awareness, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Participates in required security and compliance training on an annual basis.

Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and ten (10) or more years of progressive IT experience, including at least five (5) years in senior IT leadership roles within a large, complex organization (healthcare, academic, or equivalent enterprise) required. Demonstrated experience leading large scale infrastructure, application and end user computing environments required. Master’s degree preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
