Are you a compassionate and highly-trained individual passionate about emergency medical services? Spanish Fork FireEMS is seeking dedicated Part-time EMS Providers to deliver high-quality emergency medical care and patient transportation to our community.
This is a vital position where you will perform emergency medical and trauma care. You will play a critical role in assessing patients, providing emergency medical care at the scene and en route to a hospital, and stabilizing patients for safe transport, directly contributing to the well-being and safety of our community.
About the position:
In this crucial role, you'll serve as a primary responder in medical and traumatic emergencies. Beyond patient care, you'll help foster strong connections with patients, customers, and other public safety personnel, contributing to a professional and supportive culture that is a cornerstone of Spanish Fork FireEMS.
Safety and Emergency Response:
You'll be at the forefront of emergency response, acting as a primary first responder to medical and trauma incidents. Your responsibilities include:
- Providing emergency medical care at the scene and en route to the hospital.
- Performing basic/advanced life support procedures, based upon certification level.
- Assessing patients and stabilizing them for safe transport to a medical facility.
- Ensuring that the vehicle and equipment are ready to use at the beginning of the shift and after every call, including cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking.
- Recognizing and responding quickly and effectively to medical and traumatic emergencies.
- Adhering to all local, regional, and state guidelines regarding patient care.
SupervisionOperations:
- Following established protocols and demonstrating calm and decisive action during incidents.
- Attending shifts as scheduled to maintain departmental coverage.
- Monitoring and performing all duties in accordance with department rules, regulations, and policies with professionalism.
- Actively participating in continuing education and/or training to maintain certification as required.
Customer ServiceCommunication
- Interacting effectively and professionally with patients, family members, bystanders, and the general public in a manner that reflects credibly on Spanish Fork FireEMS.
- Preparing clear, accurate, and complete patient care reports, logs, and documents.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, public safety personnel, and medical staff.
Position Qualifications
- Education / Certification / Experience:

- Valid Utah Driver's License.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Utah and/or NREMT AEMT (Advanced Emergency Medical Technician) or Paramedic Certification.
- BLS and PALS Certifications (ACLS for PM's)
- NIMS 100, 200, 700a, and 800b certifications (within 6 months of hire).
- Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, using good judgment and a thorough understanding of the principles of emergency medical care.
- Ability to react calmly to stressful situations and perform effectively as a team leader in patient care situations.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with patients, customers, and the general public.
- Language: Must be proficient in English.
Physical DemandsAdditional Requirements:
- Physical Demands: You must be able to perform the physical demands of the job.
- Pass the SFFE physical agility test on hiring and yearly.
- Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position, including working some early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must abide by all city policies and procedures.
