Position Summary: Global Stone and Tile (GST) is looking for a Construction Project Manager (PM) to lead overall administration and technical direction of commercial construction projects and/or multiple projects. This position will collaborate closely with internal and external team members, A/E professionals, owners, and trade partners while continually striving to elevate the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and constructed with superior quality and safety.
· Report to Director of Site Management and Director of HUB Support on regular basis on status of project and critical needs.
· Support project management team with daily activities required to ensure a successful project. This may include on-site project supervisors (Superintendent or Site Manager), project managers, project engineers, draftsmen, etc.…
· Visits each project site prior to the commencement of construction, during mobilization, during installations, and while punch list activities are being performed. Regular on-site support of other GST supervision is required to support the project team and interface with the OAC team. This may require officing at the project to ensure effective communication with project team members.
· Ensures buyout process is complete and that all subcontracts or purchase orders are written within 60 days of contract with particular emphasis on agreements that have potential impact on early activities.
· Attend and support pre-construction meetings with contractors, owners, and architects to ensure scope alignment and schedule assumptions.
· Coordinates with the Superintendent / Site Manager to regularly update installation progress and ensure that project production and financial milestones are being achieved.
· Coordinates with offsite project support team (“HUB”) to support project management and on-site management needs.
· Support and manage daily activities of the GST Material Management Team; this includes Logistics Mangers, Material Managers, and general labor who help to deliver project materials to their respective project sites. Ensure effective coordination of off-site storage and the movement of materials to the project site as required.
· Ensures—along with the project management team—that the project site and construction activities are being constantly documented in writing and with photos, and that they are properly stored electronically. (This is achieved utilizing Procore: Daily Reports)
· Prepares for, attends, and represents the company in applicable meetings including, but not limited to, the following: job “kick off”; daily team huddles, weekly project staff meetings; monthly Cost-to-Complete reviews; owner-architect-contractor (OAC) meetings, monthly Ops Leadership meetings, etc….
· Reviews RFI’s, ASI’s, CCD’s, etc., with the project team to ensure that answers are received in a timely manner from the owner and architect. Ensure project team is tracking cost and scope impacts and submitting Potential Change Orders (PCOs) in a timely manner and as required by a project’s Prime Agreement. Help mentor and coach project management team in development and settling of pending change orders with OAC team as needed.
· Reviews and ensures request for information (RFI) log is current and follows up to ensure record drawings and as-builts are updated and maintained.
· Modifies the subcontract agreement and/or purchase order template to the specific project, inserts detailed scopes of work with project team’s input, and ensures subcontracts and/or purchase orders are issued in a timely manner to allow for maximum quality and schedule and cost effectiveness.
· Reviews and works through negotiations of scope modifications to the prime contract; for critical or significant changes - work with Directors and COO to resolve as needed.
· Supports the Superintendent / Site Manager to ensure “responsible person” coverage is in place for afterhours work.
· Ensures project safety policies, procedures, and company & OSHA standards are being enforced by the project team and that weekly safety meetings are being held. Work closely with the project team to ensure Federal (OSHA) and local (UOSH – in the state of Utah) are being met. This includes helping offsite corporate support staff organize and track critical documents. Ensure required project safety standards and protocols are being met including posted documentation, reporting requirements, and individual employee certification completion.
· Formally documents via e-mail, letter, etc., all relevant informal communications occurring on site with vendors, installers, or external team members.
· Work with the project team to ensure quality expectations are clarified with the OAC team. This will typically include the identification of early mock-ups, initial installations, and quality inspections of the same once installation has been completed. Create for each project well documented reports or encourage the OAC to produce reports that clarify project quality standards and installation tolerances.
· Manages the job closeout process from day one of project. This includes but is not limited by the following: ensure financial obligations to subcontractors are settled within 30 days of substantial, and that the final payment is received within 60 days.
· Ensures that the operations & maintenance (O&M) manuals are compiled and submits them in accordance with contract documents.
· As outlined in company initiatives – help to “hire right, train right, and treat right” Encourage the identification, on-boarding, and training of future team members.
· Although travel outside of the state of Utah is not anticipated, it may be required to support off-site fabrication or material procurement activities from vendors or suppliers around the globe. Currently, GSTs network of vendors and suppliers are located in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
· Assists business development and preconstruction in possible project pursuit opportunities.
· Seeks input from team members on how to improve process, project, company, etc.
· Seeks to learn changes in the industry.
· Regular, timely, and predictable attendance is required for this position.
· Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or another related field; 10+ years of related experience working on commercial construction projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a related area with extensive knowledge of construction operations.
- Strong leadership skills with 5+ years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Spanish language skills not required, but helpful.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
