Aviation Materials Expediter
Location: Titusville, FL (on-site)
A Materials Expediter in a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), Part 145 certified, or heavy MOD (modification) facility is responsible for managing the flow of aircraft parts and tooling to ensure projects are completed on time and in compliance with aviation regulations. This role is critical to minimizing aircraft downtime and preventing production delays.
Key responsibilities
- Tracking and Monitoring: Track and monitor all parts, materials, and tooling, including Aircraft On Ground (AOG) parts, using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or similar system. They are using “Deltek CostPoint” ERP system.
- Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance teams, coordinating with purchasing, receiving, quality assurance, engineering, and program managers to facilitate the timely movement of materials within the facility and with external suppliers.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve material shortages, delays, or discrepancies, initiating recovery plans to mitigate any impacts on the production schedule.
- Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation and records related to material movement and work activities, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and FAA/EASA Part 145 regulations.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control, managing customer-owned inventory, and ensuring all materials are appropriately stocked and staged in advance of need.
- Communication: Attend daily status meetings and provide regular material status updates to relevant departments and management, highlighting potential schedule impacts.
Required skills and knowledge
- You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have 4+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Must be able to read and write the English Language
- Must be able to work overtime, any shift, and weekends as required.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background, drug, & medical screening, subject to FAA requirements and random substance abuse screening.
- Must be a US citizen.
Shift/Hours:
- Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
- Overtime available dependent upon demand but not guaranteed
Assignment Duration:
- 6-8 months plus contract assignment
