Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical Focus)

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in improving production processes, driving efficiency, and enhancing product quality within a growing manufacturing environment. This is a highly visible position working closely with both engineering and operations teams, with significant time spent on the production floor.
The Role
This position is focused on process optimization, problem-solving, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. You’ll be a go-to resource on the floor, helping troubleshoot issues, implement best practices, and ensure processes run safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Improvement & Optimization: Identify and lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality
- Shop Floor Support: Act as a hands-on resource to troubleshoot issues and maintain production flow
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and statistical tools to analyze performance and improve processes
- Standardization & Control: Reduce variation and implement controls to ensure consistent, reliable production
- Documentation: Develop and maintain process documentation (flow diagrams, FMEAs, control plans, work instructions)
- New Equipment & Processes: Support equipment implementation, validation, and optimization in production
- Engineering Changes: Review, implement, and communicate updates across teams
- Quality & Compliance: Support quality standards and build error-proofing systems (poka-yoke)
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or similar roles
- Background in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering (plastics, rubber, or molding experience highly preferred)
- Experience working in a hands-on production environment
- Familiarity with ERP systems (IQMS or similar preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Experience with CNC or PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Omron) is a plus
- Ability to work cross-functionally between engineering, operations, and production teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with NPI / product launches
- Exposure to industrial or mechanical products (rubber, plastics, molded components)
- Experience working with MES systems (e.g., Ignition)
- Strong ability to communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
