Overview
System One is seeking a Project Coordinator to support activities related to a major advanced nuclear energy demonstration project. This role will assist in managing project planning, execution, and closeout activities while supporting the Project Manager and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, project controls, and project management functions.
The Project Coordinator will help ensure successful delivery of project scope by supporting cost, schedule, and scope management, assisting with project planning activities, and helping resolve project conflicts to ensure work is delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
Support management of project cost, schedule, and scope execution using project management best practices while ensuring adherence to the approved project plan.
Assist project teams in achieving key deliverables while maintaining compliance with scope, schedule, budget, and technical performance requirements.
Support planning efforts for work scopes within control accounts by coordinating with project management and engineering leads to gather planning inputs.
Develop and maintain staffing and resource plans, ensuring schedules are appropriately resource leveled.
Monitor and analyze cost and schedule performance, including earned value (EV) data compared against time-phased budgets.
Identify root causes of cost or schedule variances and support development of corrective actions, recovery plans, and variance management plans.
Coordinate with Contract Administration to ensure work performed complies with all contractual requirements.
Ensure project records and documentation are stored and maintained in accordance with corporate procedures.
Maintain the project risk register and track mitigation actions to reduce project risk.
Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure project activities follow established PMO processes and standards.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience supporting project management, project delivery, or project coordination activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Experience working in multidisciplinary, matrixed project teams.
Demonstrated ability to support project planning, execution, and delivery of results.
Working knowledge of project scheduling, budget tracking, and project control practices, including earned value management concepts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and project tools such as Visio and Microsoft Project.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira.
Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
Background working in large infrastructure, energy, or engineering projects.
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex engineering concepts.
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computer-based work.
Occasional bending, grasping, or fine motor work while using computer equipment.
Ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds when required.
Work environment includes a standard office setting with extended computer use.
Travel required: 10–20%.
