Role Description
Rehoboth Terminal LLC is seeking a full-time Vessel Superintendent to oversee daily operational activities associated with vessel cargo handling. This is an on-site role located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Responsibilities include coordinating and supervising vessel loading/unloading operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, managing communication between terminal staff and vessel crews, and maintaining operational efficiency. The Vessel Superintendent will also be responsible for troubleshooting issues, managing documentation, monitoring equipment usage, and ensuring timely reporting to management.
Qualifications
- Operational planning and logistical experience, specifically in RoRo and container cargo handling
- Knowledge of cargo consolidation and shipping regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and coordinate between stakeholders
- Familiarity with safety, environmental, and compliance standards in terminal and port operations
- Proficiency in monitoring operational logistics and problem-solving in high-pressure environments
- Ability to oversee and manage equipment for cargo operations
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, maritime operations, or a related field is preferred
- Prior experience in a similar operational or maritime role is an advantage
