What you’ll do:
- Own end-to-end logistics for inventory coming from factories in China to U.S. warehouses.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our factory shipping team counterparts.
- Organize shipments weekly via air or sea shipping based on pricing or timeline needs.
- Negotiate freight rates, service levels, and contracts with carriers and freight forwarders.
- Ensure full compliance with shipping, customs, and retail vs DTC routing guidelines.
- Track shipments in real time with live dashboards for simple internal team updates
- Proactively resolve delays, errors, bottlenecks, discrepancies, or delivery issues.
- Partner with warehouse teams to ensure accurate, on-time product receipt.
- Issue chargeback requests for short-shipped inventory against GRN receipts.
- Responsible for approving purchase order deliveries and releasing them for payment.
- Monitor production timelines and enforce adherence to on time shipping standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory reporting for in production, on the water, and receiving
- Collaborate with the production and demand planning team for overall team success
- Implement solutions to balance inventory levels while minimizing stockouts and overages.
- Report monthly on logistics costs, landed product pricing, and operational performance.
- Source, evaluate, and support new logistics vendors as needed.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience managing international logistics for a high volume ecommerce and retail integrated consumer-goods brand.
- Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent field.
- Experience coordinating with China factories’ shipping teams and U.S. warehouses.
- Proven ability to negotiate rates with carriers between ocean and air freight options.
- Strong understanding of international shipping, customs, and import compliance.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills to team leaders and cross functional teams.
- Comfortable operating independently as the sole owner of logistics.
- Excellent communication skills, Mandarin speaking is preferred.
- Great Excel formula development and management skills.
- Comfortable with mixed work hours, occasional evenings talking to China
