EDM specializes in stone projects in Luxury Residential and Retail Stores. The company specializes in crafting interior as well as exterior work in natural stone and marble, including floors & walls, staircases, bathrooms and decorative accessories. EDM follows projects from the Design, procurement, fabrication, quality control, logistics through to the installation of the stones in luxury private residences, apartments developments and luxury brand stores known around the world such as Dior, Hermes, Chanel and Cartier. The Opportunity
EDM is looking for highly skilled and motivated to join a team of results focused experts in North America as the Company continues to grow and expand its operations around the world!
Position Summary
Reporting to the , the takes full responsibility for the success, safety, quality, delivery, commercial and schedule compliance of a single project. Key to this is to ensure relationships are maintained with clients, consultants and trade contractors. The Project Manager manages the relationship with the customer, participates in the development of the project plan as well as participates in the direction and management of the project execution. This includes working at client sites; monitoring and controlling the project results as well as closing the project.
The ideal candidate will have a progressive, solutions driven attitude towards improving the client experience and is a team collaborator with the ability to focus on work perfection to improve the Company’s bottom line.
Essential Functions
- Management of the project management process from pre planning through to construction, and project completion.
- Ensure business operations are executed in a safe manner (Health and Safety legislation).
- Ensure excellent communication between designers and project managers to achieve a finished project which meets all the client’s requirements and produces the desired outcome: increasing sales, generating awareness, improving brand identity.
- Provide reliable management information to Managing Director and support / monitor construction staff (including sub-contractors).
- Manage work and teams within the project, including the Design Manager, Construction Site Supervisor/Site Superintendent and Installers.
- Plan the whole project (including preparation phase, execution phase and termination) and develop a detailed Project Schedule / Work Program.
- Ensure flawless execution of project activities in close collaboration with all stakeholders including but not limited to contractors and clients.
- Monitor, recommend, and initiate changes or corrective actions for commercial issues, product design, manufacturing and services to assure compliance with contract requirements, and to maintain or improve project performance.
- Successfully manage projects, including finance, planning and client satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain client interfaces to promote, monitor and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
- Anticipate and satisfy the client's needs, while operating within established policies, procedures and commercial guidelines.
- Coordinate, with the client, all contract actions, correspondences, and documentation.
- Provide primary interface with the client to assure client compliance with the contract requirements, and where necessary, coordinate preparation of claims and lead the negotiations for contract changes or additions while maintaining positive client relations.
- Work closely with the Design Manager on the drafting of drawings, details and cutting lists.
- Select and order the necessary material and control it for defects.
- Provide input and leadership and coordinate the office-based teams and site-based teams.
- Monitor, control, and report monthly all financial, schedule, and scope aspects of the project.
- Prepare and update the cost control sheet.
- Endorse the invoices weekly on the ERP and monitor financial condition of the project.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Skills Required
- Creative and innovative problem solving required to solve technical or organizational issues.
· Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with team members.
· Superior focus on perfecting work to improve the client experience.
· A proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues.
· A creative drive and a keen eye for innovative ideas and trends.
· Thorough understanding of project management and timely completion of work according to set out schedules.
· Valid U.S. work authorization.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime.
Experience Required
· Five (5) to seven (7) years of project management experience. Construction or engineering background is an asset.
· Experience within an international environment is an asset.
· Experience in relationship management with external customers, including contract negotiations.
· Experience in developing and administering resource plans, budgets and in understanding financial results.
Education Required
· University Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
· Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is an asset.
· Equivalent experience an asset.
Working Conditions/Environment
Working conditions include a shared office environment with frequent sitting and standing. Must be able to perform complex tasks requiring independent knowledge and its application to non-routine situations. Frequent travel between office locations in USA and Canada and travel to job sites.
Work Schedule
8-10 hour workdays Monday through Friday, with frequent weekend work, as required by the project schedule.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 USD per annum commensurate to experience.
