We are currently seeking a hands-on Transportation & Warehouse Operations Manager to support a major customer facility in Greensboro, NC.
Position Overview
This role will operate as an embedded on-site resource responsible for both daily transportation execution and process improvement initiatives.
The position will split time between tactical operational support and optimization of the order-to-ship process, helping improve shipment flow, transportation efficiency, and warehouse coordination.
This is a highly operational role working directly with warehouse teams, transportation partners, and HOP leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Tactical Execution (Daily Operations)
• Perform daily order entry and shipment processing
• Manage shipment confirmations and documentation
• Coordinate outbound shipments from the Greensboro facility
• Ensure accurate shipment visibility and system updates
• Provide hands-on operational support to maintain shipment flow
• Support limited LTL shipments and select U.S. shipping lanes/regions (majority of LTL remains managed separately)
Process Improvement & Optimization
• Analyze the current order-to-ship cycle and identify inefficiencies
• Support CubeIQ implementation and pallet cubing accuracy
• Weigh and measure pallets to validate freight cube data
• Develop standardized SOPs for pallet building and order consolidation
• Assist with zone shipping and consolidation strategies
• Support transportation mode and lane optimization initiatives within HOP’s operational scope
• Assist with shipment and order-level data integration into HOP systems
• Conduct process mapping of warehouse and transportation workflows
• Identify operational improvement opportunities and implement performance KPIs

• Strong coordination between warehouse and transportation teams
• Measurable improvements in shipping efficiency and cost discipline
Qualifications
• 4–7+ years experience in transportation, logistics, or warehouse operations
• Experience working in distribution, fulfillment, or shipping operations
• Understanding of truckload, LTL, and shipping coordination
• Strong problem-solving and operational mindset
• Ability to work hands-on within warehouse environments
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel and operational systems preferred
