IT Infrastructure Administrator (Level II)
RC Willey is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Administrator (Level II) to support and enhance our enterprise IT environment. This role focuses on server infrastructure, backup and storage systems, and core IT services that support a large, distributed user base.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on administrator with strong troubleshooting skills, experience in Linux, Veeam and other enterprise infrastructure, and the ability to work
independently while maintaining the ability to collaborate with team members to resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems
- Support Red Hat Linux systems (patching, configuration, troubleshooting)
- Manage virtual infrastructure using VMware vSphere / vCenter
- Support internal applications and web-based systems (permissions, configuration)
- Serve as an escalation point for advanced infrastructure issues
Backup, Storage & Data Protection
- Administer and troubleshoot Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Data Cloud, and tape systems
- Perform data recovery and support disaster recovery operations
- Support enterprise storage platforms including Pure Storage (preferred) and Dell PowerMax
- Assist with capacity planning and performance monitoring
Operations & Projects
- Participate in system monitoring, incident response, and on-call rotation
- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell (and/or Bash/Perl)
- Maintain accurate documentation and operational procedures
- Assist with infrastructure and various technical projects
- Work with vendors and contractors to support critical systems
- Mentor IT staff and share technical knowledge
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of VMware experience
- 2+ years of Veeam Backup experience (M365 protection preferred)
- 1–3+ years of Linux administration experience
- 1+ year supporting enterprise storage systems (Pure Storage preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage tasks end-to-end with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills
- PowerShell, Bash, or Perl scripting
- Experience with large-scale enterprise environments or migrations
- Knowledge of compliance, data governance, and security best practices
- Familiarity with additional collaboration platforms (Zoom, Slack, Webex)
Work Requirements
- Participation in after-hours support and on-call rotation as needed
- Occasional nights, weekends, or holidays may be required
