Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the design and further development of the organization’s proprietary equipment. This includes testing, analysis, and troubleshooting activities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to ensure equipment is designed efficiently and meets defined quality standards.
Location: Dallas, Texas with approximately 15% travel
This position is found within our Engineering Department and reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
Your Tasks:
- Design mechanical systems and components within the organization’s product catalog
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing drawings
- Coordinate with the Controls Engineering team to ensure effective system design and integration
- Implement and maintain drawing standards across the product line
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to standardize major components within defined categories
- Evaluate overall product performance, safety, and reliability
- Participate in pre-sale process testing to identify customer requirements and develop process specific solutions as needed
- Participate in machine run-offs and ensure designs are implemented according to specifications
- Support
- Support the resolution of design discrepancies and technical issues
- Oversee engineering change order processes, ensuring changes are well-documented and properly followed
- Support the Design Team in new product development initiatives, including cost analysis and design optimization
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification or experience working in a lean manufacturing environment
- Minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment, with strong preference for discrete manufacturing
- Proven experience designing industrial machinery within the food industry or a transferable field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advance knowledge in AutoCAD Inventor
- Advanced knowledge of 3D design tools
- Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Availability to travel both domestically and internationally
