Position Summary
We are seeking a decisive and operationally disciplined Logistics Dispatch Manager to lead daily dispatch operations across all service lines. This individual is responsible not only for assigning freight, but for building and maintaining a high-performance dispatch culture centered on accountability, situational awareness, and service integrity.
The Dispatch Manager owns the board. That includes staffing coverage, priority alignment, driver performance oversight, and proactive risk mitigation. This role directly impacts revenue retention, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. This position requires operational ownership beyond a traditional clock-in/clock-out structure. Service integrity and team performance take priority over fixed-hour boundaries.
Core Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of daytime, after-hours, and weekend dispatch personnel.
- Ensure full board visibility and operational control at all times.
- Establish and enforce dispatch standards, including ticket review, time-window verification, and special instruction compliance.
- Monitor workload ratios and adjust staffing accordingly.
- Conduct daily performance reviews of service failures, missed pickups, and routing inefficiencies.
- Partner with Customer Service, Warehouse, Fleet, and Driver Management to ensure seamless operational flow.
- Provide coaching and corrective action when standards are not met.
- Escalate high-risk customer situations immediately to executive leadership.
- Maintain driver accountability regarding on-time performance, communication, and professionalism.
Operational Oversight Expectations
- Within 10 minutes of shift start, the board should be assessed for priorities, gaps, and potential bottlenecks.
- No job should be dispatched without a full understanding of time constraints and special requirements.
- High-value accounts must be monitored with heightened awareness.
- Dispatch errors must be root-caused, not excused.
Performance Accountability

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of logistics or transportation dispatch experience.
- Must have prior supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of routing, workload distribution, and operational risk.
- Experience with dispatch management software (Dispatch Science preferred).
- Ability to lead under pressure and make decisive operational calls.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
