StaffBright is partnering with a leading tier one automotive supplier to growh their quality engineering team. The Quality Engineer is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards for products and processes within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This role focuses on defect prevention, strong floor presence, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure customer requirements are met and quality systems are sustained. The ideal candidate is early in their quality engineering career (2+ years) and brings a strong, team-first attitude; this role will include customer-facing activities, so professional communication and interpersonal skills are required.
What You Will Be Doing
- Support plant-wide quality engineering activities in both a production and assembly environment
- Utilize core quality tools (APQP/PPAP/FMEA)
- Support quality audits, compliance, & process documentation
- Navigate and support root cause analyses, corrective actions, & OEM customer support
- Support Continuous Improvement activities including Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen Events
What We Need From You
To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Quality) or related field OR equivalent relevant experience.
- 2+ years experience as a Quality Engineer (or similar quality role) in automotive manufacturing (Tier 1 preferred).
- Experience with Core Quality Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA (Control Plan and Process Flow Diagram strongly preferred).
- Working knowledge of structured problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Ability and willingness to spend time on the plant floor supporting operators and production teams.
- Strong communication skills with a respectful, collaborative style—able to influence without authority.
All-Star Skillset
The ideal candidate will also have any or all of the following preferred experience and skills:
- Tier 1 automotive manufacturing experience supporting OEM or major automotive customers.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements (CSRs), and audit preparation/participation.
- Experience with gage calibration systems, MSA/GR&R, capability studies (Cp/Cpk), and basic statistical methods.
- Experience with 8D methodology and customer complaint response.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma tools.
