Education: Minimum BS, preferred in Chem Eng, Mat Engineering or Material Science
Travel Required: Occasional travel expected to support product commercialization
This is a hands-on product/application development position and job responsibilities for the position will include:
Electroplating chemistry product and process development
- Chemistry operation, analysis and maintenance
- Establish chemistry control ranges and maintenance procedures
- Optimize process parameters and establish engineering control metrics
- Process scale-up and troubleshooting
Xtalic alloy application development
- Test method development
- Alloy/process optimization to meet customer specifications
- Customer sampling
Design, execute and document experimental plans
Operation and maintenance of process equipment
Materials inspection/failure analysis
Transfer of process knowledge to internal and external customers
Documentation of processes
The successful candidate will have a combination of the following skills and experience:
- Wet chemistry handling and safe working practices
- Ability to execute and analyze detailed experiments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Experience with inorganic materials testing/analysis (eg. SEM/EDS, XRF, hardness/durability, cross sectioning, environmental testing)
- Capable of multi-tasking while working in teams or as an individual contributor
