Mechanical Engineer – Switchgear | Houston, TX | $80k - $120 | Full-Time

Work Arrangement: Full-time, on-site (5 days/week)

Compensation: $80k - $120k (dependent on experience)
A growing manufacturer of custom power distribution equipment is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with direct switchgear experience to support an increasing volume of low- and medium-voltage projects. This role is critical to helping the engineering team stay ahead of a growing project pipeline and will focus exclusively on switchgear and switchboard design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for low- and medium-voltage switchgear (up to 38kV)
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings
- Design sheet metal enclosures, frames, panels, and mechanical layouts for custom switchgear and switchboards
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years (up to 10) of mechanical engineering experience in switchgear or power distribution equipment
- Strong foundational understanding of what it takes to design switchgear
- Experience with low- and/or medium-voltage switchgear (switchboards also valued)
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools
