Position Responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineer, you will contribute vital support to our lab and data center engineering projects. You will be responsible for day-to-day hands-on activities in the lab, including testing, debugging, and lab equipment management, and will work closely in team settings that require clear verbal communication. This is a full-time onsite position in Santa Clara, Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility for late hours or weekend needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform testing and debugging of electrical hardware solutions in a hands-on lab environment.
- Operate and manage lab equipment, including oscilloscopes (high and low bandwidth) and protocol analyzers.
- Support the setup and bring-up of data center and server platforms.
- Coordinate and communicate lab activities, results, and challenges with team members in a clear and professional manner.
- Document processes, log data from tests and experiments, and contribute to troubleshooting and resolution efforts.
- Maintain an organized and efficient lab environment by tracking equipment usage and supporting calibration needs.
- Troubleshoot high-speed interfaces, notably PCIe, and analyze protocol outputs for system bring-up and verification.
- Upgrade or modify lab infrastructure as directed, ensuring all safety and compliance procedures are followed.
- Assist with file management, scripting, and process automation related to engineering workflow (where applicable).
Essential Skills, Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated hands-on lab experience in testing and hardware debugging.
- Proficiency operating oscilloscopes, including both high and low bandwidth models.
- Familiarity with HSIO (High-Speed Input/Output), particularly PCIe or other high-speed interface technologies.
- Experience using PCIe protocol analyzers to perform and assess system verification.
- Previous lab equipment management experience, including asset tracking and calibration support.
- Strong English verbal communication skills to coordinate and report with project teams in the lab setting.
- Proven ability to work onsite Monday–Friday, with flexibility for extended or weekend hours as project needs arise.
- Background in data center and/or server bring-up, configuration, or troubleshooting is highly desirable.
Preferred/Additional Skills (Nice To Have)
- Linux system experience (running scripts, file management, navigation through directories).
- Python or scripting language proficiency for process automation or data analysis.
