Serro is building TPM agents for AI-native engineering organizations. We're backed by Mango Capital, 10VC, and Mashup Ventures, and we're already working with several billion-dollar organizations to rethink how engineering teams operate.
We think the role of the technical program manager is due for a fundamental rethink — and we're building the infrastructure to do it.
The Role
We're looking for a VP of Engineering to help us build that infrastructure. This is a hands-on role. You'll be deeply involved in architectural decisions, writing and reviewing code, and shaping how we build — not just managing people who do. You'll work directly alongside the founders on product direction, hiring, and early partnerships.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Mateo, CA.
What You'll Work On
- Own the technical design and execution of core product components
- Make architectural decisions that balance speed now with scalability later
- Build and grow an engineering culture that's rigorous, pragmatic, and product-minded
- Partner with the founders on product strategy, team building, and early customer work
- Create tooling and systems that other high-velocity engineering teams — including our own — actually want to use
What We're Looking For
You're likely a strong fit if you have deep experience in one or more of:
- AI agents, backend orchestration, or multi-modal systems
- Real-time infrastructure
- Traditional ML/AI systems
- Graph databases
We also take seriously: having founded or led engineering at an early-stage company, an unusually strong design sensibility, and side projects that show genuine curiosity.
- Most importantly — you should care about the problem. We're not looking for someone to manage a roadmap. We're looking for someone who wants to help figure out what engineering teams could look like if they were built around AI from the start.
