CDimension is a hardware company building toward the future of computation — spanning quantum computing and advanced semiconductors. At the core of what we do is a lean, fast-moving team working on the materials and equipment that make next-generation computing platforms possible. We operate at the frontier of semiconductor and quantum materials, and we move fast.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced MOCVD Process Engineer to advance our 2D material synthesis operations. You will run and optimize growth recipes across multiple MOCVD systems, improve film quality and process repeatability, and help push our synthesis capabilities forward as a core part of the team. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role — ideal for someone with deep process intuition who wants to do meaningful work at the intersection of materials, equipment, and future computing.
Responsibilities
• Own process quality across multiple MOCVD reactors: diagnose growth issues, identify root causes, and drive improvements.
• Design and optimize growth recipes for 2D materials (MoS₂, WSe₂, h-BN, TMDs, etc.) targeting high crystal quality, large grain size, and uniformity.
• Analyze characterization data (Raman, optical microscopy, AFM, etc.) and make informed decisions on process adjustments.
• Define and communicate run protocols and process changes to technicians; review their outputs and provide feedback.
• Identify equipment issues and collaborate with the engineering team on reactor improvements.
• Maintain process documentation and build a systematic knowledge base of recipe iterations and outcomes.
• Drive development of new synthesis processes for quantum and advanced semiconductor applications.
Requirements
• 2+ years of industry or research experience with MOCVD or CVD systems.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize thin film growth recipes independently.
• Background in 2D materials synthesis (TMDs, h-BN, graphene) strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical skills: able to read characterization data and translate findings into process decisions.
• Clear communicator — comfortable directing technicians and documenting process knowledge.
• Self-driven, ownership mindset; no need for close supervision.
Nice to have
• Experience with MoS₂ or WSe₂ synthesis specifically.
• Familiarity with precursor chemistry and gas handling systems.
• Exposure to process scale-up from R&D to production.
• Background in quantum materials or device fabrication.
