Donan’s Component Testing Lab (CTL) located in
Las Vegas, NV is currently looking for an
Transportation Specialist. The CTL Transportation Specialist works diligently with Alpine Intel CTL partners to plan and control the safe shipment of customer item(s) (evidence). The Transportation Specialist interacts with specialized vendors to ensure that effective and appropriate measures are taken regarding item(s) preservation. All packaging requirements are communicated to the vendors by the Transportation Specialist and are continuously audited to document effectiveness and accuracy. The Transportation Specialist will also be responsible for the securing of competitive freight quotes for every move of freight, inbound and outbound.
The Transportation Specialist will also have to use analytical tools to be able to determine the proper course of action when planning “specific and specialized” freight moves. These special moves would fall into predetermined guidelines and be handled accordingly. The Transportation Specialist is primarily responsible for all freight related responsibilities and functions associated with the CTL operation.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain knowledge of CTL business operations in order to effectively engage with and service customers.
- Enter transit requirements/information into Alpine Intel’s systems with a high level of accuracy.
- Efficiently and effectively arrange for the packing and shipment of evidence to Alpine Intel CTL.
- Effectively track evidence, while in the shipping process, in an accurate, careful, and timely manner.
- Supports and maintains a safe work environment.
- Plan and control all functions related to freight movement.
- Regularly audit functions related to freight movement.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly performance keeps up with the demand of the business and quality expectation required by Alpine Intel and the industry.
- Promptly respond to customer needs/requests and ensure efficient and effective fulfillment of such needs/requests; demonstrate personal accountability for handling client inquiries/problems.
- Handle all internal and external communication (customer and employee) with the highest level of professionalism.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of hands on experience working as a professional in an administrative, customer service, and/or freight transportation environment.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential matters.
- Solid problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
- Strong technical capability in Microsoft programs (predominantly Outlook, Excel and Word).
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the firm’s guidelines.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy required.
- Must be flexible with the willingness to assist in other areas on an as needed basis.
- Must be able to work alone, action-oriented, proactive, and continually displaying a sense of urgency.
- Excellent phone skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to stand on one’s feet for prolonged periods of time.
- Frequently required to lift and/or move objects weighing 25 lbs.
- Frequently required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
