Summary Of Job
Reporting to the IT Director at Las Vegas Grand Prix, the IT Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of new and updated IT systems and infrastructure, acting as a key liaison between IT and the business. The role ensures smooth communication and collaboration across teams, particularly during service deployments and operational changes. It involves providing high-level support to executives and VIPs, managing technical escalations with Formula 1 and third-party providers, and maintaining security standards. Additional responsibilities include, responding to incidents promptly, and supporting Grand Prix Plaza activity as well as seasonal event-based activities such as Grand Prix operations. The role requires flexibility to work across multiple sites and within a flexible work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage IT technical facilities at Grand Prix Plaza, including connectivity, technical installations, and facilitating 3rd party requirements.
- Own and manage the AV and LED displays at Grand Prix Plaza, including managing requirements for updates and changes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure IT fully understands requirements and manages expectations regarding services delivered.
- Provide onsite support for permanent exhibits within LVGP scope.
- Ensuring appropriate staffing and equipment to facilitate events hosted at Grand Prix Plaza, ensuring co-ordination with the LVGP events team to understand schedules.
- Identify and analyze business needs, providing recommendations on how IT solutions can address these effectively.
- Deliver high-level support to VIPs and Executives, ensuring exceptional service both in the office and at LVGP-related events.
- To maintain relationships with key suppliers, and partners to ensure a smooth service and positive relationships to enhance both corporate requirements and commercial obligations.
- Act as the technical escalation to Formula 1 or 3rd party support, and to offer support to all LVGP staff across LVGP offices.
- Respond to security incidents promptly, escalating to the Formula 1 Information Security team as required, while safeguarding the LVGP environment.
- Contributing to user training and documentation: offering guidance, training, and support to end-users on how to use computer systems, software applications, and IT tools effectively. Working with escalation pathways as needed to ascertain any missing information or knowledge.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing service deployment and acceptance within technical environments.
- Experience working large scale and live event operations, such as sports or convention centers.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions in clear, non-technical terms.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 services, including fundamental security policies.
- Relevant IT qualifications or training in IT strategy or applied technical subjects.
Work Schedule
- This is a full-time position that works a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
SEASONAL & EVENT-BASED RESPONSIBILITIES (GPP ROLES ONLY / IF APPLICABLE):
This role includes a seasonal period during which responsibilities extend beyond standard operations. During load-in and load-out of the Grand Prix Plaza facility, race week activations, and other special projects, the position may support non-traditional functions that fall outside routine venue management. Flexibility, cross-functional collaboration, and adaptability are essential during these high-impact times.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role has the potential to be physical at times, to support office moves, Grand Prix Plaza events and installations.
- Assist with Physical move of IT Assets – monitors, IT peripherals, servers, networking hardware.
- Ability to be present across all LVGP sites; offices, warehouse and Grand Prix Plaza moving between them at short notice.
