Summary:
Broad Function
The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing fleet operations for Brock, helping the organization run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with laws and regulations. This position directs and manages the costs of the vehicles owned or leased by the organization, and creates and implements policies based on company and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- Promote, demonstrate, and instill Brock’s Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business.
- Coordinate sourcing and procurement activities for company vehicles, define specifications, and make purchase decisions based on optimal quality and price.
- Responsible for proper inspection, registration, and titling of all company vehicles.
- Coordinate and negotiate fleet maintenance and management contracts.
- Ensure compliance with both company and employee lease vehicle policies; report discrepancies and variations to policy.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
- Analyze repair costs to control expenditures; ensure sound decision-making on repair versus disposal.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal policies and programs to enhance DOT/FMSCA compliance and operational efficiency; ensure the tracking of DOT violations, inspections, and citations.
- Support the procurement of new vehicles and assist with the identification, management, and disposition of surplus or obsolete assets.
- Develop and maintain KPI and metric reporting for distribution to executive and regional leadership.
- Actively participate in budget development and implementation.
- Formulate new policies, programs, and procedures related to the fleet department.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies that maximize vehicle utilization.
- Develop and implement inventory strategies to ensure asset accountability.
- Evaluate purchase versus 3rd-party rental decisions based on capital requirements.
- Maximize fuel economy and manage fuel card usage.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the Asset Management organization.
- Regular assessment, mentoring, and development of fleet personnel.
- Manage telematics for all company vehicles. This includes, data collection, enforcement of company policies (speeding violations, seatbelt use, etc.), and granting access to supervising personnel.

Working Conditions
- Primarily working indoors in an office-based environment with some field and outdoor requirements.
- Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment as necessary.
- Travel as required.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years of experience in fleet operations or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in managerial or supervisory role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
- Experience with CGC, BDMS, or other ERP system preferable.
