Primary Directive:
Provide leadership, direction, be responsible and accountable for all personnel and equipment assigned to his/her care, custody, and control. Oversee and lead the entire Safety Attendant operation (Confined Space Attendants, Fire Watch Personnel, Bottlewatch Personnel) at the jobsite including preparation/planning of the job under your control.
Main functions:
To staff, train, manage, lead, and execute safety attendant jobs (Confined Space Attendants, Fire Watch Personnel, Bottlewatch Personnel) safely at client locations. Identify and hire the proper people and resources. Ensure employees perform safely, knowledgably, and proficiently their duties and related tasks with requisite equipment; to audit employee performance, give feedback, and coach employees to ensure they perform at a high quality. Ensure the job site functions in accordance with the prescribed organizational chart of the job. Additionally, the Project Manager is responsible for the safety, budget, and financial success of the job.
Reports to:
JCL Safety Services Vice President of Operations with a dotted line to the client representative.
Duties:
- Identify and hire the needed safety attendant personnel and resources and preplan the job.
- Ensure all employees work safely and have the prescribed equipment.
- Implement the safety execution plan.
- Ensure the financial success of the job.
- Hold employees accountable.
- Ensure proper professional communications with all levels of the job, including the client and contractors.
- Attends daily TA planning meetings to understand the schedule, scope, and assigns resources to units to cover client/contractor needs.
- Assigns personnel to Foreman and assigns crews to particular units.
- Implements the Safe Attitude Encouragement Program.
- Kicks off daily tailgate meetings and participates in them.
- Coordinates with client counterparts.
- Ensure daily manpower and financial reports are delivered to the client on time for cost reporting and tracking purposes.
- Lead by example.
- Conducts Safe Attitude Encouragement audits at least weekly.
Working Conditions:
- Enter and work in very small, tightly confined spaces periodically.
- Extreme hot weather conditions, temperatures exceeding 100 °F with high humidity.
- Extreme cold weather conditions, below freezing temperatures with snow, ice, freezing rain and drizzle.
- Wet, slippery, or slick surfaces.
- Dusty, dirty conditions.
- Direct sunlight.
- Total Darkness.
- Working at heights or depths.
- High winds.
- Wet weather such as rain or drizzle.
- Extremely noisy conditions.
Employment Requirements:
- Be able to read, write and understand the English language.
- Be able to pass written Confined Space Attendant and New Employee orientation exams.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Possess a T.W.I.C or Transportation Workers Identification Card.
- Must pass and maintain appropriate annual safety training i.e. Basic Plus, CSTOP.
- Pass a drug and or alcohol screen including post accident, random, and reasonable suspicion testing.
- Be able to communicate professionally, tactfully, and interpersonally with others.
- Notify supervisors of all incidents or injuries immediately.
- Be professional, responsible, courteous and respectful to others.
Physical Demands:
- Be able to climb ladders and stairs in excess of 13 stories.
- Be able to work at heights on scaffolds greater than 170 feet.
- Be able to work in extreme temperatures including high heat, cold, snow, ice and rain.
- Wear leather gloves, fire retardant clothing, Nomex clothing, steel or composite toe boots.
- Wear hearing protection such as ear plugs and or ear muffs.
- Wear safety glasses and be equipped with goggles on hard hats at all times.
- Be able to work in direct sunlight for long periods of time.
- Be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Be able to wear fall protection harnesses, lanyards or retractable devices.
- Be able to walk long distances.
- Be able to walk, crawl, stand or kneel on a variety of surfaces for long duration.
- Be able to work 12 to 16 hours in a day for consecutive days of up to 90 days.
- Be able to work nights, evenings, days, weekends and holidays.
- Be able to travel and live in remote areas for undetermined periods without rotation.
- Be able to work indoors or outdoors.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
