Mechanical Engineer – Power Projects (Houston, TX)
We are partnering with a fast-growing energy company in Houston seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support its expanding power project portfolio. This role is ideal for engineers with strong mechanical backgrounds who are comfortable working in environments where electrical and mechanical systems intersect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design, installation, and commissioning of natural gas engine and turbine facilities.
- Collaborate with EPC partners, equipment vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Apply mechanical engineering principles to engines, flow systems, and heat dynamics - focused on practical, hands-on problem-solving rather than structural design.
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems in the field and provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning phases.
- Contribute to project documentation, equipment specifications, and vendor review processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Hands-on experience with power generation equipment (engines, turbines, heat exchangers, pumps, etc.).
- Understanding of flow dynamics, heat transfer, and thermal systems.
- Familiarity with electrical systems terminology and operations; able to collaborate effectively with electrical engineers.
- Experience working with EPC companies on large-scale energy projects is strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
Why This Role:
This is an opportunity to work on major power projects from concept to commissioning, gain broad exposure to mechanical systems in energy applications, and make a tangible impact on project delivery.
